If you've noticed that your Mercedes Me feature appears inactive after plugging in your MBito OBD device, you're not alone. This is a commonly reported situation among MBito users, and the good news is that it is normal behaviour; nothing is broken.
Why This Happens
The MBito device connects to your vehicle through the OBD-II port, which shares resources with several onboard systems, including Mercedes Me connectivity. When MBito is active in the port, the Mercedes Me function is temporarily suspended as a result of this connection. It is not a fault, a compatibility issue, or anything that requires technical intervention.
The "Feature Inactive" Notification
Your dashboard or Mercedes Me app may display a message indicating that the feature is inactive. This notification is simply the vehicle acknowledging the change in its connected state. It will clear on its own once the vehicle goes into sleep mode, which typically happens a few minutes after you park, switch off the ignition, and lock the car. You do not need to unplug the device or contact support for the message to go away.
What You Need to Do
Nothing. The message resolves itself automatically. If you unplug the MBito device, Mercedes Me will resume functioning as normal on the next ignition cycle.
